Folsom Point Provisions in Margaretville offers a relaxed blend of a café and beer garden that fits perfectly with the laid-back Catskills vibe. Locals and visitors alike seem to appreciate this spot as a good starting point for mornings and a casual stop for afternoons, especially when the weather cooperates to enjoy its outdoor seating. Nestled near a local golf course with views of the surrounding mountains, the patio is a natural draw for those who want to linger over coffee or a light meal while soaking in the scenery.

The café side leans into simple, well-executed comfort food with an emphasis on quality ingredients. Their bagels and breakfast sandwiches, such as the egg and cheese on different bread options, are noted for being fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Smoothies, chai, and health-forward drinks like chia lattes suggest an attentive approach to accommodating various tastes and dietary preferences, including vegan options. Likewise, the locally roasted coffee and carefully crafted espresso drinks make it a reliable spot for caffeine fixes, whether for a quick grab or a slow-paced morning.

In the evenings, the beer garden aspect shines through with a selection of cocktails, wine, and beers complementing the casual food offerings. The vibe is friendly and unpretentious, supported by attentive service and welcoming owners who clearly have a hand in the passion behind the menu. Seating options inside and out provide flexibility for different moods—whether you’re coming in for a quiet coffee, a lunch catch-up, or a laid-back early evening drink.

This place works well for people passing through on their way into the mountains or for locals wanting a low-key spot to start their day or unwind. Busy weekends tend to keep the patio lively, making mid-mornings or early afternoons on weekdays the best time to settle in without a rush. Ample parking adds to the convenience, which matters in a small town where options can be a bit limited.

  • Great for morning coffee and casual breakfast sandwiches
  • Comfortable patio seating with mountain views
  • Local and health-conscious food and beverage choices
  • Friendly, involved owners and attentive staff
  • Versatile spot for both quick stops and slow afternoons

OMG!! This place exceeded all of our expectations.!! We were on our way from NYC to the Catskills for the week and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, warm, and full of character. The food? Next level. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients that really shine through. The burger and fries were the highlight for me!! Service was impeccable—friendly, knowledgeable staff who clearly care about what they do. You can tell there’s real passion behind every detail here, from the menu to the décor to the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a full meal, this place delivers on every front. A hidden gem worth going out of your way for. We’ll definitely be back! (This after our second visit)

We really enjoyed Folsom Point! We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a perfect view of the mountains and local golf course. We ordered their handmade bagels which were excellent. Very laid back, great place to grab and go, or to sit and enjoy a slow morning. Order a great cup of coffee (locally roasted) or a very well crafted espresso drink. This spot is new to Margarettville and should be a "must experience" for anyone driving through town or staying in one of the amazing local Air B&B's.

Really nice owners. The burger I had was a top 10 burger....very gently cooked and perfectly done. The coffee and tea selection is wide and really really good. Plenty of available indoor and outdoor seating.

Holy cow their food is good. I saw the pictures on the reviews and decided to go for a late lunch yesterday. It was amazing! We got an organic smoothie to start and shared their chicken sandwich with a side salad and their burger with their shoe string fries. Literally everything was perfect and so tasty. The owners are very nice and clearly put a lot of love into their food. Definitely recommend getting the chicken sandwich with the house ranch. I think it’s one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Ambiance is perfect too! Great place for a quick bite!

We just had a few breakfast sandwiches and a burrito. The food was fresh and delicious, the place is clean and well kept and the staff was friendly. Good prices too. The coffee is delicious, whatever beans they're using are great. Two thumbs up!

Great vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus healthy smoothies, juices, Italian sodas and more. (My carnivore friends loved their burgers, too.) I had the Carrot Lox with capers and fresh dill last time and it was amazing. People are super nice. You can eat inside, out on the deck or at picnic tables with umbrellas for shade on the lawn. Breakfast menu served until 3pm, lunch menu served until 8pm.

Folsom Point Provisions is one of those rare finds that instantly feels like a local treasure. Tucked away in the mountains, it’s a true hidden gem that’s quietly serving up some of the freshest, most flavorful food around. Their commitment to locally sourced, game-fresh ingredients is something you can taste in every bite — it’s honest, rustic, and absolutely delicious. Even better? They’re open on weekday mornings, which is a lifesaver when everything else in town is still shuttered. Whether you're fueling up for a hike or just craving a great coffee and breakfast in a beautiful setting, Folsom has you covered when no one else does. I’m seriously excited for what they have coming this summer — the new brunch and beer garden menu sounds like exactly what the Catskills need. If you haven’t been yet, go. If you’ve been, go again. Let’s support this small business that’s pouring their heart into creating something special up here. They deserve all the love.
